50 & 100 meter events are running races over a short distances in which athletes try to run at their maximum speed throughout the entire distance of the race.
The 200 meter is a running event placing more emphasis on speed endurance than shorter sprint distances, running half way around the track.
The 400 meter is a running event placing more emphasis on speed endurance than shorter sprint distances, running once around the track.
800 meter is the shortest common middle-distance running event and is run over two laps of the track.
This is a 4 x 100 relay race consisting of 2 kids (under 14) and 2 adults (over 14).
Put a relay team together on meet nights and get ready to have a good laugh!
The long jump combines speed, strength and agility in an attempt to leap as far as possible from a take off point, horizontally for distance.
Pole vaulting is a track and field event in which a person uses a long, flexible pole (which today is usually made either of fiberglass or carbon fiber) as an aid to jump over a bar.
*The pole vault is limited to ages 12-18. This is a learning session with instructors. This clinic goes on at the same time as the meet. Athletes chose one or the other to particiapte in.
The TurboJav teaches the basic fundamentals and mechanics associated with any throwing Event. The TurboJav was originally designed to teach beginner javelin throwers the same throwing fundamentals in a safe and fun environment.
